* This is a super old post from the old WOM, which somehow never made it over to the new blog. Since it was fitting for this time of year - here it is again! Enjoy :) *
Awhile back I found an awesome mini candelabra at a thrift store for $4, and then a few weeks ago found a cute little matching set of candle sticks, $2.50 for the set. They were both that lovely 80s brass color, of which I had some fun pictures, but my laptop decided to delete all of my pictures on my SD card before I could save them. At least there weren't too many pictures on there!
First, I scrubbed the candle sticks and let them dry completely. I then used black Rustoleum spray paint to re-paint them. I did about 4 light coats, and a 5th heavier coat to get them a little glossy. I picked up some candles at Michael's, 0.99 each for the orange ones (of which I accidentally picked up only 4 when I needed 5 - guess I have to go back!) and 1.29 each for the black glittery ones.
It was a fun and simple project that I think makes my Halloween decor much better!

Oh, Amanda! That is a cute idea! I have several candlesticks that I don't particularly like the color... I think I will paint them! Thank you for the wonderful inspiration! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
ReplyDeleteSuch an easy project... I also have silver candlesticks with red candles that I use for a Christmas display :)
DeleteJust wanted to say that I love your posts!! Ironically, I just picked up a can of this spray and I can't wait to try it out on some items. Practice makes perfect I guess! Keep up the great work!
