I think that we can all agree that the best kind of thrifty find is something you get for free!
Whether it's a curbside find, a Craiglist item, or whatever else - free is always a good thing in my book!
While I was in the midst of packing/moving to Florida, my parents were up in Connecticut at my paternal Grandmother's house. She will be moving in with one of my aunts (she's 94 - it's time for her not to live on her own anymore), so a good chunk of the family went up to help dig through the house and such.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it this time around (I hope to go up for round 2 in September), but my parent's snagged me some pretty awesome stuff. Most of it is just knick-knacks and such that will probably end up staying in storage, but these beautiful glasses and pitcher were my favorite item:
Supposedly, the pitcher was a teal color when they snagged it at the house (we all know how I love teal!) but it ended up a greenish color by the time they got home. We figure the heat from the car (they spent several days sight-seeing on their way home) may have caused the color change.
Of course the teal would have been ideal, but I still love the vintage green color - and I think it goes really well with the yellow cups!
