The process is pretty much the same, but the results are so much better! The first weekend I made this, I ended up making 3 batches as it disappeared so quickly. I make it all the time now, and it’s always my go-to drink for get-togethers.
I like to add the cup of mixed berries for a slightly deeper taste, but feel free to exchange it for another cup of strawberries if you wish. The lemonade never lasts long around our house, but I expect it would keep for 3-4 days in the fridge (I doubt it will last that long in your house either though!). I also like to make some ice cubes out of it for parties so that drinks don’t get watered down, and sometimes we even add a shot of vodka to the glass for a nice, refreshing, adult beverage! : )
Strawberry Lemonade
Ingredients:
3 cups frozen strawberries
1 cup frozen mixed berries
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 tube frozen Minute Maid lemonade
To make strawberry syrup:
Thaw frozen berries completely, then place in blender or food processor until smooth.
Pour mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove all the seeds.
Place berry mixture, sugar, and water in large saucepan on medium heat and stir.
Allow to come to a boil, stirring continuously so that it doesn’t burn.
Turn heat down to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until reduced to a thick syrup (roughly 45-60 minutes).
Turn off heat and let cool to room temperature.
Pour into airtight container (I use a clean, single serving orange juice bottle) and refrigerate until needed.
To make lemonade:
Combine roughly 1/3 of the strawberry syrup with the tube of frozen lemonade in a large pitcher.
Add 5-6 tubes of water to mixture and stir.
Add more strawberry syrup, lemon juice, or water to taste.
Pour over ice and enjoy!
